
Wandering Southerner Eats
Exploring new places, cultures, foods, and traditions is a passion of mine. I sought to travel as much as possible in my early adult years, living in different parts of the country, studying in other countries, and eventually ending up in Upstate New York for 4 years. From there the name Wandering Southerner emerged. It’s now a matra for me to keep learning, growing, and exploring. To put it simply, to keep wandering.
I have since returned to my hometown of Greenville, SC where I live with my husband, Thacher and Golden Retriever, Moxley.
I have been gluten free since I was 15 and became dairy free about 5 years ago. I grew up in a house where cooking and food was alway a big part of our daily lives, but after having to change to an alternative diet I became invested in cooking and baking. After having my fair share of horrible cakes and cupcakes that were dry and chalky I became determined to create baked goods that everyone would love to eat even if they weren’t gluten free or dairy free. I now create cakes and cupcakes for my friends’ and family’s birthdays, weddings, and events.
